Christmas Party - 2008

Members of the Texas Touring Ts had a delightful Christmas party at the Feed Barn on December 11. It was great to be with fellow Model T enthusiasts and share a holiday meal.

Many thanks go to Loyd Deen, Ben and Nancy Hardeman and Jennifer and Ross Lilleker for providing three wonderful door prizes. Loyd made a beautiful hand-made knife sharpener (won by Ross Lilleker). The Hardemans and Lillekers provided a $25 gift certificate to Texas T and A Parts (won by Ernie Wentrcek) and a book about Model T accessories (won by Becky Wright).

December Minutes of the Meeting

The December meeting was held at the Feed Barn Restaurant.

Ben called the meeting to order and then introduced Paul Spitzenberger, a new member, who then told a few things about himself. He told the group that he owns a 1911 touring Torpedo. Then everyone took turns introducing themselves and telling which cars they own.

Ben spoke of a possible trip to take place between Christmas and New Year’s saying that more information would be available later. Jennifer said that the club may have a trip sometime in the Spring to Tyler when the Azaleas are in bloom. It will be planned on a weekend and some will probably choose to drive from here. There was also talk about a Natchez Trace tour to be planned for the last week in April to the first week of May and it will be a week long tour as it is about a 400 mile trip from Bryan. Some will plan on driving from here while some may choose to trailer their cars. Another trip to Tyler will be planned for October for the annual T Party to be held there this year. Dates for that trip will be announced at a later date. It is expected that as many as 80-100 T’s would likely be there.

Nancy gave a Treasurer’s report saying that the club now has $868.12 in their account after having paid the fees for the Christmas parade in which some of the club members participated.

Door prizes were drawn for and handed out.

Ross mentioned that the work day has been postponed until sometime in January.

Meeting adjourned.
