Workday

A workday was held on Saturday, February 21, at Texas T Parts and Lilleker Antique Auto Restorations. Those who attended were Ben Hardeman, Ross and Jennifer Lilleker, Ernie Wentrcek, Linda Evans, Lance Bullard and Lloyd Deen from Bryan-College Station. Also attending were Tommy Supak and his son, of Brenham, Paul Spitzenberger, of Houston, David Whitmore and his two sons, of LaPorte, Marten Thomen of San Marcos and Sam Mangrum and his step-son of Waco.

This was a busy day and much was accomplished. Starting at about 9 A. M., a group worked on Lloyd's wheels. They installed the tires, tubes and flaps on the rims and now he should be able to get his car on wheels. Ross worked on Martin's transmission and showed everyone how it works and how to put it together.

Martin and a few others worked on putting together and getting the top of his car installed so he doesn't have to sit in the rain. Ben and Ernie worked on tracing an electrical problem in Ernie’s car. Lance took Ross for a ride in his Model A and they listened to his engine. Tommy worked on his touring car and repaired his rear wheel seal, adjusted the steering joints and cleaned the mag post. David Whitmore inspected the progress of his frame off restoration of his Fordor and talked about paint colors.

Jennifer treated everyone to coffee and muffins for breakfast and pizza was ordered for lunch. Tommy brought sausage from Brenham and served it with bread. It started raining in the morning and everyone moved under cover, but then the sun came out and the guys were back at work. Those who came for the day learned a lot and had a good time.
