Road Trips
It usually starts with the ring of a phone one mid-week evening. The caller asks, "Are you up to a road trip this weekend?” Almost always the response is in the affirmative.
Finally, when the appointed day arrives, club members check the oil and radiator, lubricate, and gas up the Model T. Then it's time to take off. When traveling the back roads at 35 miles per hour, one enjoys features of the landscape that would never be recognized if passing through in a SUV at 70 miles per hour. There is nothing like the wind blowing your hair, the companionship of friends, dining outside under giant oak trees or eating a great meal in a cozy country cafe.
