Touring opportunities were especially rewarding for members of the Texas Touring Ts this month. Ross Lilleker, Michael McDonald, Rachel Wendt, Ben and Nancy Hardeman, and Ginger and Ernie Wentrcek drove to Calvert on Saturday, April 24, and were treated to a fajita meal at the Victorian home of Don and Amber Warner. Don mapped out a great touring route thru Franklin for our trip there and Ben led us home thru Mumford for a change in scenery. The weather was sunny but not hot and we couldn't have ordered a better day for the trip.

Ernie had a little car trouble on the road but it turned out to be nothing more than a couple of spark plugs that needed to be replaced or tightened. Sam and JoAnn Mangrum were planning to attend the festivities but had problems with a coil on the way from Waco and had to return home.

Don and Amber served a delicious meal of fajitas with rice, beans, guacamole and bread pudding. After eating and visiting, Don led the group on a tour of the back roads around the Calvert area. While the peak time for the wildflowers may have passed, bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes, coreopsis, and wild mustard were still blooming in the fields. The last wooden bridge in Robertson County was on the tour route and we stopped to take some pictures.
