A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Ernie Wentrcek

First of all, thanks to all those members who were able to attend the club's Christmas party on December 10th. The turn-out of twenty-five members just indicates the strength of our organization. The food was wonderful, and the gift exchange was a real hoot.

This month the Texas Touring Ts celebrates our second anniversary. It seems like we were just holding our first meeting at the LaSalle Hotel in downtown Bryan, but here we are beginning our third year as a Model T club. Under the leadership of our first two presidents, Ben Hardeman and Tommy Supak, we made great strides in club membership and programs for our monthly meetings. And, our club website and monthly newsletters created by Ginger Wentrcek are "the talk of the hobby."

As your president for 2010, my primary goal is to have more one-day trips in hope of getting more members to participate in the Model T driving experience. I propose that when we do have our one-day trips that members with drivable cars invite those members whose Ts are not yet road worthy to ride with them. Also, do not hesitate to invite friends or relatives to ride along. You never know - that one trip may whet their appetites and bring new Model T owners into the club. If you know of a particular place that would make a good one-day trip, do not hesitate to let Jennifer, Ross or me know about the destination. For those members who dream about those week-long or month-long trips, the year 2010 will surely offer a number of excursions to exotic destinations.

Wow....I don't know about you, but I'm ready to hit the road.
