The Adventures of Hank and Ethel

It's not exactly Charlie Brown's pumpkin patch, but before you get to the serious stuff below, let's have a little fun. After all, that's what this edition is about.

I am an amateur photographer and my sister and I were out one day taking photos of birds. Well, a buzzard IS a bird, so I took a few shots (with the camera) and off we went again in search of more feathered friends. Once home, the photos were downloaded to the computer and tucked away for a rainy day.

A few months ago I took my 7th html/css course and needed some photos to use in one of the lessons. Ahh-ha, I had the perfect pictures . . . the buzzards. When you start taking yourself too seriously, trouble is on the horizon, so I turned the photos into cartoons and used them in the lessons. Some of you have seen some of the cartoons, but there are also new ones in the pile.

Click on each pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. When you finish, then you can read the minutes.

MINUTES OF THE MEETING

September 10, 2009

The September 2009 Texas Touring T's meeting began at 7:00 p.m. at the Feed Barn restaurant in Bryan, TX. Tommy Supak started the meeting by welcoming everyone and asking for a motion to accept the minutes of the August 2009 meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Lance and seconded by Ernie. A treasurer's report was not presented due to Nancy being away on vacation and not present at the meeting. It was noted that she may not be on vacation because a Model T was not involved in her trip with Ben. Members commended Ginger for her producing another outstanding newsletter in August. In addition, Ginger supplied the members at the meeting with delicious homemade short bread cookies. Low meeting attendance accounted for some members over indulging on her cookies.

The Wentrcek's announced the Texas Touring T's Christmas Party would be hosted at their house this year on December 10th in-lieu of and at the same time as our normal December meeting. The Washington County Fair activities for those that wished to participate were discussed by Tommy. The Texas T Party in Tyler from Oct. 8th -10th was discussed. If you don't have a room reservation you need to get one immediately if you plan to go. It was announced by Ernie that Scott Medlen at Santa's Wonderland in College Station invited the club members to display their Model T's and get a free entry one evening. The Bryan/College Station Christmas Parade this year is December 6th. The club has an entry for those who wish to drive their Model T's in the parade.

The program for the evening was presented by Tommy. He shared information about preparing for a Model T tour. A Model T Safety Inspection checklist was distributed to the members present. The trivia question for the evening was how many cotter pins are in a Model T?

After enjoying a big meal, a very informative program, and Ginger's wonderful baking talents, a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Sam and seconded by Ernie.
