A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Tommy Supak
Tommy gets a little help from Rhett as he repairs
his Model T.   Bet it will run better, now.
The year is coming to an end and the holiday season is here. Thanksgiving is here and Christmas is just around the corner. Although we often complain about how the way things are, we truly have a lot to be thankful for here in the good ol USA! Let’s make sure you take time out of your hectic schedule and spend some quality time during the holiday season with your family and friends.
The Model T is tucked away in the garage with the tank full of gas, antifreeze in the radiator, fresh oil in the crankcase, and the battery disconnected. It is ready for the winter storage, but at a moments notice when there is a nice sunny warm day, it will ready to crank up and do a nice winter drive. We are fortunate to be living here where we do. Our good neighbors up north of here have some really cold weather dipping down to the teens and that makes for no winter driving - or at least no comfortable driving during the winter months. However, when it comes to driving the model T, I think you can always find time and weather to do it in. If you remember some of Ben Hardeman’s videos from the past meetings, you can even get snow tracks and convert your model T to a snowmobile, if you are really brave!

As the year comes to an end, so do my responsibilities as your president of the club. I want you to know it has been an honor and a privilege to serve in this position. I look forward to the 2010 year where our club will be under new leadership with new ideas. We are very fortunate to have the great wealth of mechanical knowledge and model T expertise in our club. Our newsletter and web page are simply the best! A special thanks goes to all of our officers and club members for making this a great year. I would like to leave you with a challenge and that is bring a guest or prospective member to our next regularly scheduled meeting that is held at the Feed Barn every month.

If your car is not ready or need some help in completing your project, come to the next meeting and let us know what needs to be done and perhaps we can schedule a work day and help get you going. Can’t wait till the 2010 touring season starts again. Looks like it is going to be another great year for the Texas Touring T’s!!!!!
