Henry Ford wasn't known for putting many extras on his Model T. Many new owners commonly ask, "Where is the dipstick?" if their car does not have one of the modern accessory dipsticks installed. What many people don't know is that accessory dipsticks were actually available as early as 1920 for the Model T.
The Akuret Oil Gauge casting shows "PAT OCT 5 '20". The calibrations on the dipstick are interesting; DANGER - LOW - FULL - EXCESS. The casting screws into the location where the lower petcock is located on the oil pan. The tube extends through the splash apron on the right side of the car near the front of the passenger's door. Originals are extremely hard to find.
Texas T Parts has decided to reproduce the Akuret Oil Gauge that is shown in this ad. It has taken over three years to locate some of the necessary raw materials. We are having to have the flat wire custom made that is used for the dipstick. We expect to be able to deliver products by November 1st.
