Spring Tune-up Tour

Date: March 13, 2010 ~ Time:9:00AM ~ Rain Date will be April 10th, same time

STARTING POINT: Bernhardt Winery Parking Lot. Get there by Hwy 105 out of Conroe, 3.6 miles east of Dobbin. Or come north on Hwy 249 to Pinehurst, then FM1774 to Plantersville, right on Hwy 105 for 2.1 miles. North arrivals could go east of Navasota on Hwy 105 to Plantersville plus 2.1 miles.

Join cowboys, musicians and period characters for a trip into the past. Ride the bright red, replica stagecoach; tour the 1850s stagecoach inn; listen to the sweet sounds of the Star of Republic Mountain Dulcimers and enjoy the oft-times funny, sometimes sad cowboy poetry of Kenny Lewis.

Then drive through Richards, and south to Dobbin, where we’ll have lunch at Holder’s BBQ. Cross your fingers—he’s not done remodeling.

After lunch, proceed back to the Bernhardt parking lot, and go into the winery for a private tour and tasting session. Cost for the tour is $10 per person, to cover the winery tour & facilities.

Tour Hosts: Denny & Gwen Irvine 936-856-2929 or cell 936-827-0091/0092

It's Fajita Time

Don and Amber Warner are hosting their annual fajita meal at their lovely Victorian home in Calvert on April 24. Don and Amber said the only thing you need to bring is a big appetite, and I think we can accommodate that request. Other activities that can be planned after the meal are a home tour in Calvert, a ride through some country roads around the Calvert area or a stroll through the antique shops. We can decided what we want to do at the March meeting and give the Warners a head count. You can also e-mail your RSVP to the Warners here.

This sounds like a great way to spend the day. Many thanks to the Warners for this gracious invitation.
